Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Guardians and Students,

I hope you and your families are all well.  This is a very challenging and stressful time for all of us and I am not going to spend time in this letter discussing hand washing techniques and how to social distance.  We have all heard enough about that.

What I want to focus on is Community, especially our Community, the Kaplan Community.  We aren’t just students, teachers, parents, guardians, administrators, etc…  We are human beings and we are just trying to find our way during this crisis.  Some of us are alone, confused or frightened and we have to look out for one another.

Our Kaplan Community will continue to post schoolwork and help our students academically, but we are more than just that.  We have psychologists and social workers who can help both the student and the family better cope with what’s happening.  You can email them at any time.  We are in communication with all our sending districts, the department of health and local governments and services.  There is a coordinated effort across many different agencies.

So, if you need help, give us a call.  If we can’t help you directly, we can point you where to go and help you find what you need.  We are here to listen.

Families have already been contacting us to find out how they can get technology or WiFi from their home district, where they can find breakfast and lunch programs for their children, even how they can get in touch with the services they need to survive.

Please, don’t be afraid to contact us.  There is no issue too big or small.  We are here to help.

Be safe and be well,

Mr. Jay Posephney
